EMERGENCY services are responding after a paragliders crash-landed.

Coastguard and paramedics have been called to Peacehaven after the incident shortly after 4pm today.

Images from the scene show the kite on the beach below the cliffs, and a huddle of emergency service workers.

It is not known what injuries the paraglider suffered or how the crash happened.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency says there were two incidents of crash landings today.

The first happened when a man landed on rocks near Peacehaven, and he was treated at the scene by the ambulance service.

Meanwhile in a second incident, four people landed on the beach between Newhaven and Peacehaven and became stranded.

But no injuries were reported as the group were able to get themselves to safety.

A Coastguard spokesman said a rescue team was sent to both incidents to help with casualties, while the RNLI lifeboat was launched to complete a shoreline search.

All four were accounted for quickly, so the lifeboat was stood down.
