IT WAS an impressive turnout by the “youth” of Brighton and Hove to protest about climate change.
It is, after all, their planet that “we oldies” have messed up.
But how much do they really care about the planet?
Go in to any of our parks in the morning after teenagers have gathered to “chat & chill” and you will see mounds of discarded rubbish, plastic bags, crisp packets and cans left for others to clear up.
If they really are the eco-warriors they would have us believe, then they would leave these areas pristine.
With respect, they should consider what they can do as individuals to improve the environment.
It would have a far greater effect because I fear that a mass protest will achieve very little.
Is it the cynic in me that thinks it was just an excuse for time out of class?
