A SUSPECTED drug-dealer said “it really hurt” when he was bitten and detained by a police dog.
He twice attempted to outrun officers in Brighton on Tuesday.
At 10.20pm PC Mark Tully was walking Spike at East Brighton Park when he saw a silver Volkswagen Polo which smelled strongly of cannabis.
The vehicle drove off, and was pursued into nearby Rugby Place, where the suspect got out and ran off. PD Spike chased the man and tackled him to the floor.
But as PC Tully controlled the dog and called for back-up, the man ran off again.
PD Spike quickly caught up and bit his arm to detain him again, and the suspect pleaded for him to let go.
The 23-year-old was arrested for possession with intent to supply cannabis, failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and resisting a police officer.
