SCHOOL children have received a celebrity’s seal of approval in their environmental campaign.

Leonardo Di Caprio posted a picture on Instagram of pupils in Brighton taking part in a climate change march on Friday.

With the post, he wrote a caption which said: “This picture is from Brighton. This week well over 100 000 school children were on strike for the climate.

“The British PM says that the children on school strike are “wasting lesson time”.

“That may well be the case. But then again, political leaders have wasted 30 years of inaction, and that is slightly worse.”

The mass strike, called UK Youth Strike 4 Climate, was inspired by 16-year-old Swedish school student Greta Thunberg, who started the first school strike for climate outside the Swedish parliament building last year.

Di Caprio “regrammed” the image from her Instagram site.
