Joe Sugg, Zoella, Alfie Deyes and Dianne Buswell double date at the seaside

Gigs, celebrities and some very interesting fashion choices make up today’s Instagram top ten.

With plenty going on in and around Brighton there is never a shortage of pictures posted to the social media site.

Some of these images get thousands of responses and give the people who take them a taste of fame – if only for a week or so.

1. YouTube stars double date

Now this is a YouTube family photo to savour, above. The star-studded shot on Brighton seafront was taken by @Joe.Sugg, who wowed the country with his performances on Strictly Come Dancing at the end of last year. Joe, far right, is pictured with girlfriend Dianne Buswell, the professional dancer he was partnered with on the show. They are joined by Joe’s sister Zoe – known on YouTube as Zoella – and her boyfriend Alfie Deyes. Combined, Alfie, Zoe and Joe have more than 30,000,000 subscribers on the online video platform.

2. Soaring seagull

Whoever runs the Brighton Palace Pier Instagram page was clearly in the right place at the right time to take this great snap of a seagull swooping in front of the pier. Maybe the person with the camera had some chips or doughnuts in their hands as the gull is heading straight for them. See @brightonpalacepier for more.

3. Brighton's champion

This is Chuck Mambo, he is Brighton’s wrestling champion. He won the title at Riptide Wrestling in August and has defended it valiantly since. See @chuckmambo for more wrestling action.

4. Pier Pup

The obligatory top ten pet photo this week comes courtesy of the @artistresidence Instagram page. This is Humphrey the cocker spaniel having a great time exploring Brighton beach – he is clearly a huge fan of the seafront. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the pier so he had to stay on the pebbles.

5. Blue October

Texas alternative rock band Blue October played in Brighton this week and took the chance to get this fantastic sunlit shot in Concorde 2. The venue is stunning inside especially with that light shining through. See @blueoctoberband for more tour pictures.

6. Stunning sunset

This is a brilliant sunset shot from the top of the cliffs and looking out to sea.

The colours are amazing and make for a very artistic shot.

7. Kitty Kimono

There are few words I can use to describe this photo, mainly because this is so bizarre. But clearly @koendanai is a big Hello Kitty fan.

8. Sunny seafront

Another great photo of the seafront from Instagram user Samantha. Pebbles and boats are what Brighton is all about see @samanthavandep oll for more.

9. Seagulls star

It has been quite the season for Swedish youngster Viktor Gyokeres at Brighton and Hove Albion. The Seagulls are in their second season in the Premier League and Viktor has had the chance to get game time in the FA Cup and Under 21 Premier League. 10. Puzzling picture

OK, there is a hint of Photoshop about this picture but that doesn’t change how cool it is. Ivan is clearly a wizard at making difficult puzzle games disappear, which is probably what many of us would want the Rubik’s Cube to do when we are struggling to match up the colours.
