A DOMESTIC abuser has been ordered to pay compensation after assaulting his former partner.
Michael Smith attacked the woman at a ground floor flat in Brighton on three occasions in December last year and January this year.
The 34-year-old admitted a “repeated assault on the same victim” when he appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
The thug, also known as Michal Krol, has been ordered not to contact the victim, and not to attend her address.
Prosecutors said the first attack took place on December 9, and there two more incidents on January 19 and January 21. He also admitted criminal damage to her bank card on January 21.
The court was told he had used a weapon, and has a previous history of domestic violence.
Smith, of Buckingham Place, was handed a 26-week suspended prison sentence.
He must pay her £200 in compensation, along with a victim surcharge of £115, and court costs of £120.
Meanwhile he must also attend 24 Building Better Relationships sessions with the probation service in the next two years.
