PRINCE Charles’ favourite magician has won an award at the “Oscars for magic”.

Romany Romany, who performs as Romany, was given the Royal stamp of approval when she was praised by the future king as his “favourite magician”.

Now, the Brighton-based magician has been given the magician’s stamp of approval after winning an inspiration award in Vanish magazine for her book, “Spun Into Gold – The Secret life of a female magician”. Romany said: “I was astonished after receiving this from the professional world of magicians, it was a surprise and honour. I was really encouraged because the reason I was writing this book was to inspire others, so this award gives me the green light that it could inspire others which is my heart’s desire.”

Romany started training in the art of magic 25 years ago performing at corporate parties, 80th birthdays and a royal performance for Prince Charles. Romany, who has a “Sequin Palace of Dreams” off London Road, has done it all. Speaking about her book she said: “It’s all about reminding people there’s magic in the world.”
