A SKULKING stalker bombarded a woman with hundreds of unwanted phone calls.

John Morley targeted the victim, who The Argus has chosen not to name, by turning up near her flat in Lewes at night.

He also tracked her location and sent her more than 70 messages over a terrifying two-day period in February.

The 28-year-old admitted stalking and was ordered by magistrates to pay compensation to the woman in the “domestic violence” case.

The court was told that he “pursued a course of conduct” that he should have known would cause harassment.

It included more than 200 phone calls.

Morley, of Pelham Close in Pevensey, was sentenced at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Magistrates put him under a restraining order not to contact the victim or to attend her address in Lewes town centre.

He must complete 250 hours of unpaid work, and 20 rehabilitation sessions with probation.

They also made him pay £100 in compensation, £85 for a victim surcharge, and £85 for court costs.
