A WOMAN'S body has been found at the bottom of the cliffs near Peacehaven.
Emergency services were called to help recover the body from the beach, just off Steyning Avenue, at about 3pm today.
The dead woman has not yet been identified.
Police requested assistance from Newhaven Coastguard, Brighton RNLI lifeboat and South East Coast Ambulance services.
A police spokesman said: "Police were called to a report of a body found on the beach off Steyning Avenue, Peacehaven, at 2.35pm today.
"The body of the woman which has not been identified has been recovered by the coastguard.
"The coroner's officer is dealing with the death.
"No other information is available at this time."
A spokeswoman from Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: “A Brighton RNLI lifeboat was called to assist with an incident near Peacehaven.
“It is a Sussex Police-led incident.”
