A CHILDREN’S charity is thanking one of its business partners for 18 years of support.

Rockinghorse has been the beneficiary of monthly donations from Brighton-based Swat Marketing since 2001 and in that time, the company has raised £17,265 for the charity.

Established in 1998, the marketing company specialises in the design, print and distribution of flyers, brochures and posters in Brighton, Hove and across Sussex.

It offers indoor and outdoor displays on poster sites throughout the region. Swat donated £1,800 during 2018.

Darren Kis, company director at Swat Marketing, said: “I decided to support the charity because I was in the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital when I was nine-years-old, and I have always wanted to give something back to them.

“I came up with the idea of using my poster sites to raise funds and began with a 2p donation per poster displayed.

“This initiative also meant that shop owners were supporting the charity too by having the poster sites on their premises.

“Since 2001 I have increased the amount we donate, so it is now 10p per poster towards our monthly donation.

“We have over 1,800 poster sites in Brighton alone which raises almost £2,000 per year.”

Rockinghorse is the fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.
