Comparable figures for the 12 months to September 2013 are included, together with the percentage change.

There is also a breakdown of the number of police-recorded homicides involving knives or sharp instruments for each force in England and Wales, across the same time period.

All data is published by the Home Office.

Greater Manchester Police reviewed their recording of knife or sharp instrument offences in December 2017. This revealed that the force had been under-counting these offences. Consequently their numbers are not included in this breakdown, as they are not comparable across the time period.
