A WEEK-LONG celebration of cocktails is coming to the city this summer.

Brighton Cocktail Week is a nine-day programme of events across the city that will focus on mixed alcoholic drinks.

Organisers of the event have said that the public can expect a celebration of drinks in a party atmosphere.

Brighton Cocktail Week organiser Nathalie Gomez de Vera said: “Expect frozen daiquiris, twisted flavours, and all things authentic, such as food, music and art.”

As well as serving up some of the finest cocktails during the week of drinks, the festival is also promoting sustainability.

Working with organisations like rum brand Havana Club and cocktail hotspot Merkaba Brighton, the festival will be developing “sustainable” cocktail menus with minimal wastage and an upcycling project which will give old furniture a new lease of life.

The Brighton Cocktail Week is being run by Mixology Group and Sharp Media.

Wristbands for access to events across the week are available for just £10.

As well as this, each of the top bars and restaurants in the city, participating in the event, will be offering up a signature cocktail at the discounted price of £5 for ticket holders.
