On this day 20 years ago The Argus went to meet some remarkable people from across the county. We saw the university students doing a mammoth sponsored walk, a muralist, a youngster with a thought-provoking essay and other children who raised money through football
Let us know who you recognise
First we have students from Sussex University got their walking shoes on as they started a daunting sponsored hitch hike all the way to Morocco. Do you know if they managed to achieve their goal?
Next up are the players from Meridian Athletic FC who collectively raised £131 for the National Meningitis Trust
Pictured are Lewis Thomsett, Jack Loraine, and Ross Jackson
They are with members of the Butterfly Pre-school, George Loraine, Ashley Dodgson, Thomas Pitts and Katie Staples
Were you part of this amazing money-raising group?
We also met mural artist Emma Moxey who has painted fine pieces of art across the county
Next, Lewes Old Grammar School’s student investment team. From left to right, David Royal, Hannah Martin, Paul Robertson, Eoin O’Neill, Daniel Tolfree, Mira Patel
Here are coaches Dave Ward and Roy Forder take the table tennis roadshow to Manor Hall School in Southwick
And finally is ten-year-old Henry Dean who wrote a competition essay about helping the environment
