On this day 20 years ago The Argus went to meet the fun runners raising money for a good cause. We also caught up with a bar owner who had an innovative use for a Volkswagen Beetle. And we found an auctioneer hidden inside a massive flower pot.
First up we have people taking part in a fun run along Brighton seafront in aid of the Market Research Benevolent Association.
They certainly look determined, do you recognise any of these runners.
Next up is the owner and manager of Casablanca’s Bar in Middle Street, Brighton, Andy Stylianou, with a VW Beetle that has been chopped in half and placed in the bar
The front half of the car has been made into a new DJ booth
While the back half has been put into the bar and made into a booth for customers
Hiding away is Rupert Van Der Werkk from Sotheby’s garden and statuary cataloguer inside the biggest pot it received for auction
And finally we meet Chris Whitwell, who may be the director of the environmental services but he has a secret love of playing two instruments – the trumpet and the flugelhorn
