ALBION have reached the FA Cup semi final and will play Manchester City.

It will be the first appearance in the competition at Wembley Stadium for The Seagulls since the final in 1983, and quite simply will be one of the biggest days in the club’s history.

This week we reported on the problems facing those who may wish to go to the match by train, as engineering works threaten to make the journey a nightmare.

Bosses are on hand looking at replacements buses as the ticket allocation for the game on Saturday, April 6, is expected to be 33,000.

We can only hope the regular transport problems that citizens of Brighton and Hove have faced over the past few years don’t mar the biggest football match Albion fans will see in a generation.

While Chris Hughton’s men will be the underdogs, many have said the semi finals are even more fan-friendly than the final itself, with more tickets for supporters than are available FA Cup final.

Regardless of the problems, the anticipation for the match will be enormous, and our hope for an upset to ruin Pep Guardiola’s plans of domination is even greater.

Winning the FA Cup would be an outstanding achievement, and we all have our fingers crossed.

It’s also fair to say, that Albion’s loyal and dedicated following will not let a few replacement bus services dampen any sense of optimism.

Without doubt many thousands will travel to get behind the team, no matter what transport they have to take.

Let’s hope that all the supporters can enjoy the day safely, and more importantly, that they see an Albion win.
