FAMILY and friends have paid a tribute to a well-known ghost tour guide and paranormal researcher.

Adrian J Andrews, who lived in Brighton, died at his home aged 58 from pulmonary embolism, which is a blockage of an artery in the lungs.

Adrian, who was a Buddhist, was especially popular in Kemp Town as he managed the Kreepy Kemp Town Ghost Walks.

He had delighted many visitors, locally and from abroad, with ghoulish tales of the town and where poltergeists like to haunt. Adrian was also able to answer any questions about paranormal activity in the city.

Lee Cockshott, 41, owner of the Marine Tavern in Broad Street, Brighton, remembers Adrian as a colourful character.

He said: “I have known Adrian for five years. He was a regular at the Marine Tavern and he had run his ghost tour from the pub for four years.

“His customers will meet at the pub, walk around Kemp Town and it was a meeting point for his tour guides.

“He lived in Brighton for nearly 30 years and he had done ghost tour guides for 15 years.

“Adrian was a friend and our pub sign writer. He was popular with everyone.

“He loved sci-fi. For his funeral, we plan to play songs from his favourite TV shows like Doctor Who and movies like Star Wars.

“I first met Adrian about ten years ago. My first impression of him was that he was quirky because he was in a ghost outfit.

“I didn’t speak to him at that time because he was waiting for his customers to meet him for the ghost walk tour.

“He told me that a lady in a green dress used to haunt the Marine Tavern.”

Adrian was born on March 25, 1960. He went to Orleans Secondary School in Twickenham and studied Acting and Audition Technique at Richmond Drama School.

The talented Mr Andrews was also an actor and presenter of several TV programmes, including Paranormal Properties, Dead But Not Forgotten and owner of Sceniks Art.

Adrian died on March 4. His funeral service will take place today at 4pm in at North Chapel Woodvale Crematorium in Lewes Road, Brighton.

It will be a Buddhist service.
