POLICE shut down a huge cannabis factory that was found inside a former ice cream parlour.
Officers were tipped off by a town centre worker about the plants growing inside the Affogato Cafe in Crawley.
The unoccupied premises in The Broadway was the site of "mass cultivation" with dozens of plants, lighting and heating.
But police say no arrests have been made, and detectives have appealed for information to find those responsible.
In a statement the force said: "An investigation was launched following the discovery of a cannabis factory in Crawley.
"A substantial number of cannabis plants have been seized from Affogato Cafe, which is an unoccupied premises in The Broadway.
"Police attended the scene following a tip-off from a worker in the area on Tuesday afternoon, March 26.
"No arrests have been made at this stage, however enquiries are ongoing to establish who may be responsible or involved in the mass cultivation of the Class B drug."
Anyone with information should report it on the Sussex Police website or call 101 and quote 622 of 26/03.
