The Damned

Concorde 2, Brighton, Thursday, June 27

PUNK rockers The Damned have announced two UK shows as part of a summer tour.

The group will play Concorde 2, Brighton, on Thursday, June 27.

Tickets go on sale on Friday.

Known as one of the groups that kick-started the punk movement, The Damned may not have been as big as the likes of the Sex Pistols and The Clash but the impact they had on the scene cannot be denied.

Formed in 1976, just when punk was finding its feet as a genre, the band gained a big fan base in the early days of the genre.

Now, over 40 years on, The Damned are still showing why they were so popular in their heyday.

While other groups have fallen by the wayside, The Damned have kept their named very much alive – albeit with some line-up changes.

Dave Vanian and Captain Sensible may be the only remaining members of the original line-up but with some youth in the ranks and able to belt out classic New Rose and Neat Neat Neat, The Damned are far from past it,

Their current line-up is completed by Paul Gray on bass, Pinch on drums and Monty Oxymoron on keyboards.
