A TOWN centre car park has been closed off after a man suffered injuries to his face.

Police have sealed off Station Way in Crawley near the Memorial Gardens this lunchtime.

Pictures from the scene show that the crossing by the North Car Park entrance to County Mall has been cordoned off.

A man suffered serious injuries to his face and had to be taken to hospital.

Police say his injuries are as yet unexplained.

Three patrol cars are there while officers and detectives remain at the scene, meanwhile the air ambulance landed nearby.

In a statement the force said: “We attended Station Way, Crawley at 12.15pm over concerns for the welfare of a man.

“He suffered serious facial injuries, which are currently unexplained, and he was taken to hospital.
