A MAN found on the roof of a block of flats was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
Police detained the suspect, 27, in Clive Court in Grand Parade, Eastbourne, yesterday at 12.45am after receiving reports of a man in distress.
Tiles and bricks, believed to have been stripped from the building, were thrown to the floor.
Police cordoned off a number of roads in the area. Officers, South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, talked the man down and he surrendered after nearly three hours.
He was detained and arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
