WE ARE busy selecting the winner of March’s camera club competition on the theme of “transport” but, in the meantime, have decided to show off some seafront pictures.

Our lovely piers never fail to impress and our club members never fail to find different ways to portray them.

Our main picture, right, is a glorious rainbow-hued shot of Brighton Palace Pier at low tide by Marianna Didding Bjerglys.

Karen Clark was similarly inspired by the low tide yet her shot, below, is almost black and white.

Darren Colehill captured moody clouds over the pier while Josh Taylor captured a wonderful orange sunset over the West Pier.

Meanwhile Dominic Ellett turned to Worthing Pier and came up with an equally beautiful shot.

The i360 is a Brighton seafront landmark now and on the left we have Colette Chitty’s arty take on it – very appealing it is too.

Argus editor Arron Hendy said: “We never tire of seeing pictures of our wonderful seafront. Our camera club members have produced some fantastic shots here.”

Our regular monthly competition carries a £50 prize and we will be revealing the winner of the “transport” challenge shortly.
