AN adrenaline junkie lost five stone in five months after a theme park trip went wrong.

Kelly Evans, 37, was horrified when she found her rollercoaster seat was too tight on a trip to Alton Towers last October.

A self-confessed thrillseeker who visits theme parks “ten times a year”, Kelly said she “couldn’t let my size stop me from enjoying my life” and vowed to lose weight.

Now, five months later, her weight loss has been “life-changing” and Kelly, from Worthing, said she feels “fab”.

She has shrunk from 16st 12lb to 11st 12lb after following a healthy regime.

She said: “My weight crept up after I turned 18. I had stopped exercising and the little bit I was doing came to a complete halt once I bought my first car.

“I then spent my twenties trying diet after diet, attending slimming clubs week after week, aimlessly clapping for people who’d managed to lose half a pound. I was stuck in yo-yo dieting misery.”

Kelly, who lives alone, said she often ate out of boredom and found it hard to stick to a diet at work because of “office feeders”.

She said: “I remember once a colleague was so put out that I didn’t have any of his sweets that he poured them all over my keyboard.

Kelly, a payroll manager, wanted to lose five stone quickly and chose a strict diet plan with the support of a health company.

She said: “I never made healthy choices, I’d have at least two takeaways a week because cooking for one was never a joy.

“But now, with the tools I’ve learnt, I know that planning ahead is key and I can finally see how weight maintenance is possible –something I never truly believed before.”

By Christmas she was already seeing the results and was thrilled to wear a “show-stopping dress” to her work party.

She said: “Although I still had a way to go it felt incredible to walk in three dress sizes smaller.”

Now five stone lighter, Kelly feels more confident and is no longer stressed when shopping for clothes.

She said: “Losing five stone has been life-changing. I’ve gone from a size 22 to a 14 and I just feel fab.

“I still can’t quite believe it’s me when I catch a glimpse in the mirror. It’s amazing not to feel anxious picking clothes off the rail anymore.”

Hazel Harrod, Kelly’s mentor at health company Lighter Life, said it was rewarding to be part of her weight loss

She said: “Kelly took everything I invited her to do and ran with it. No words are needed for the results – her face says it all.”
