MASKED men entered a house and brandished a knife at the terrified residents inside.

The duo wore hooded tops and hid their faces during the raid in Falkland Avenue in Littlehampton on Thursday.

Police say the crime was committed at 6.55pm, and said the men threatened the occupants before taking a shoulder bag, keys, cash, and tobacco.

They are looking to trace anyone who may have witnessed men acting suspiciously in the area before or after, and say the men fled in the direction of Southfields Road.

One man was slim, white, 6ft tall and wearing a dark hooded jacket, while the other wore a white hooded top.

Detective Sergeant Simon Smith said: “The occupants involved were left shaken but thankfully unhurt following this incident.

“I would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around that time, or anyone who knows who is responsible.”

On Saturday a 28-year-old man from Littlehampton was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remained in custody.
