FATBOY Slim nearly saw his final UK tour date shut down due to noise complaints.

The Brighton DJ, whose real name is Norman Cook, recently finished an arena tour of the country, but this show was something entirely different.

Having performed at the 3Arena in Dublin just five days previously, Fatboy rocked up at the one bedroom flat of a lucky fan

Fatboy, in partnership with Deliveroo, had offered one fan the chance to host the final night of the tour at their home. The winner was Lars, a call centre worker from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Bringing huge speakers, DJ decks, and enough pizza to feed everyone, Fatboy gave Lars and his friends a night to remember. It took ten hours and a touring team of 12 to transform the unassuming property into a party pad fit for an epic closing party.

Throughout the evening Fatboy spun hits like Praise You and Right Here, Right Now to a sell-out crowd (of nine), including Lars’ mum.

However the 90-minute set was nearly brought to an abrupt end as neighbours complained about the noise levels omitting from the party.

Speaking after one of the most intimate shows he has ever played, Fatboy said: “I warned the neighbours I was coming but I don’t think anyone was prepared for what went down.

“I’ve played in iconic venues around the world but Lars’ house was special.”

Fatboy Slim had previously fed thousands of revellers post-rave in Manchester.

He wrapped up a set and placed an order to feed gig-goers as they left the Manchester Arena.

By the time the revellers exited, riders were pulling up and handing out pizzas and it wasn’t long before the taxi rank and train station were packed with people praising the legendary DJ.

Fatboy’s last tour saw him play venues like London’s Wembley Arena and the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.

He will have played to more than 50,000 people across his five most recent UK dates.

But this intimate show is one that will surely live in his memory.
