A ROAD has been closed after a car crashed into a telegraph pole.

The incident happened at about 5.20am today in Wilson Avenue, Brighton.

The crash left debris scattered across the road, meaning it had to be closed both ways from between the junctions with Swanborough Drive and Vines Cross Road.

Fire, police and ambulance services attended the scene and blocked off the road.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "It was a single vehicle road traffic collision.

"The occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital."
