FILM fans are thrilled by a new cinema with comfy plush seating.

Everyman Theatre in Piries Place, Horsham, threw open its doors at the end of last month after a lengthy multimillion-pound regeneration project.

The new boutique-style cinema has three screens.

Screen One, with red LED lights along the side, is the biggest with 98 seats.

Screen Two has 88 seats and Screen Three is more intimate, with 52 seats. While the latter is a small room, the screen is big, making it ideal for private hire and group screenings.

Each has a combination of armchairs and sofas made for two.

A bar is available so guests can enjoy drinks, hot food and snacks.

Food available includes pizzas and burgers, served with hand-cut chips plus cinema specials that change every three months.

Sweets include sundaes, cakes, tubs of retro candy and of course, popcorn.

Similar to a true pictures house, it’s the type of cinema where you can enjoy an alcoholic beverage.

It serves a range of ciders and beers including cider Silly Moo, which is made in the Horsham district, and a sparkling wine from Bolney Wine Estate near Haywards Heath.

Film-goers can even have waiter service to their seats in the retro-chic cinema.

The first public screening was Dumbo and it will continue to show blockbusters but there will also be screenings of popular old favourites.

Live screenings for plays and operas by the Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theatre, Royal Ballet and occasional events like Take That Greatest Hits Live will also be showing.

There will be a weekly subtitled screening and dementia-friendly screenings from June.
