Gary Numan

De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, Monday, September 23 and Assembly Hall, Worthing, Tuesday, September 24

ONE of synth-pop’s founding fathers has announced two seaside shows.

English singer-songwriter Gary Numan will be hitting the South Coast as part of a 23-date UK tour.

Numan will appear at Bexhill’s De La Warr Pavilion and Worthing’s Assembly Hall on September 23 and 24 respectively.

Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10am

During the Eighties Numan reeled out the hits, with 1979’s Cars being the song that really spawned the birth of synth-pop, both in the UK and across the pond in America.

With 20 studio albums to his name, the most recent being 2017’s Savage (Songs from a Broken World), Numan may have helped launch synth-pop but his music has stood the test of time and has seen the singer adapt to different music genres to ensure he remains in the spotlight.

Having made his name as the frontman for new wave band Tubeway Army, Numan made two records with the group before embarking on his solo career.

It is a mark of his longevity that Gary Numan has managed to remain so consistently popular.

His autumn tour will kick off in Bexhill on September 23 and won’t end until a month later when he will finish the 23 date run at the London Roundhouse in Camden.
