A SERIAL shoplifter has been sent to prison after stealing thousands of pounds worth of goods.
Nicu Citirta targeted TK Maxx stores in Hove, Crawley, and Worthing.
He stole goods worth more than £4,000 during his crime spree between January and March this year.
At Brighton Magistrates’ Court he admitted five counts of theft, which started at TK Maxx in Goldstone Retail Park in Hove in January.
Citirta also admitted assaulting a man on the same day as his final theft at the TK Maxx store at the Montague Centre in Worthing in March.
In a spate of thefts he went to TK Maxx stores on March 5, March 9, March 11 and March 15 this year.
Magistrate Dr Ian Haffenden ordered the 44-year-old, of no fixed address, to pay all the money back in compensation, some £4,190 in total.
He was jailed for 25 weeks, but faced no separate penalty for the assault.
