THE Brighton Marathon weekend will also affect public transport.

Preston Park train station will be closed until midday and bikes will not be allowed on Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink trains in the Brighton area.

Southern Rail advised passengers to plan their journeys ahead.

Brighton and Hove Buses has also released “alternative traffic arrangements” for the Sunday.

It warned passengers that many of its services would be altered or unable to run as a result of the road closures in the city.

The majority of the disruption to Brighton and Hove Buses services will last between 7am and 11.30am with many routes returning to normal service at this time.

A spokesman for the company said: “We apologise for the inconvenience caused and will get the buses back to normal as soon as possible.”
