Primal Scream
The Haunt, Brighton, Monday, May 20
ALTERNATIVE rockers Primal Scream have announced two intimate shows ahead of the release of two greatest hits albums.
The Scottish band will play a small show at Brighton Haunt on Monday, May 20.
Tickets go on sale on Thursday, April 18.
The group have announced the show, and another at The Scala in London, ahead of the release of their latest record, Maximum Rock ‘n’ Roll.
The album will be released in two parts and will include the band’s greatest hits.
Part one is entitled Vol 1 (1986-2000) with the second LP entitled Vol 2 (2000-2016).
Both compilations will be released on Friday, May 24.
Primal Scream was formed in 1982 by Bobby Gillespie and Jim Beattie.
Beattie is no longer part of the band. Andrew Innes has been the band’s long-standing guitarist, but Gillespie continues as lead vocalist.
The group have released 11 studio albums since their inception and continue to have a strong fanbase across the UK and beyond.
Their last studio album, 2016’s Chaosmosis, reached number 12 in the UK charts and number three in the UK independent album charts.
It proves the band’s continued popularity, even after 37 years.
