FOUR men have been attacked and robbed in a series of late night attacks.
Police believe the attacks are linked.
The first robbery took place on Sunday when a man in his 30s was assaulted, knocked unconscious and had his wallet stolen at about 1am in St James’s Street, Brighton. His attacker then stole his phone.
In the second incident two men, one in his 30s and one in his 40s, were attacked and also had their phones stolen. One suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital. This happened in nearby Stein Street at about 3.30pm.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Paul Heal said: “These were serious unprovoked attacks on members of the public who had been enjoying a night out.
“We believe the two robberies are linked and are appealing to any member of the public with information to get in contact with us without delay.
“Did you witnesses either of the assaults?
“We are currently not linking these assaults to any other matters.
“You can report information either online or by calling 101 quoting Operation Lacoste.”
