ARCHITECTS and designers are working together to create a ten-year vision for the city.

Design Brighton launched a new membership scheme at Hove Town Hall last week.

Membership is open to those working in architecture, construction, and the property industry, and is supported by Brighton and Hove City Council, and the University of Brighton.

The scheme aims to influence planning policy in neighbourhoods across the city and to influence policy on a regional and national scale.

Design Brighton was a four-day festival, and founder Sophie Law-Smith, pictured, said: “We are delighted to launch our new membership scheme which we have already received a great deal of enthusiasm for.”

Among those businesses to join was SHW Sussex Coast, and the company’s regional boss David Martin said: “For us, Design Brighton is worth supporting because it brings together representatives from the private and public sector with a joint interest of establishing Brighton and Hove as the place to be for cutting edge development.”
