A WOMAN failed drink and drugs tests after a crash on the A27.

The crash happened at about 6.10am today and the 26-year-old from Brighton has now been arrested.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, drug driving and driving without insurance after a collision on the A27 at Lewes.

“Police were called to a two car collision at the Ashcombe roundabout. No-one was injured. A 26-year-old woman from Brighton was arrested. She remains in custody.”

The crash was one of two to happen on the A27 in the Lewes area this morning.

It left the road partially blocked and caused heavy traffic.

Sussex Roads Police posted about the crash on social media and said: “A cluster of collisions to start Monday morning off with, including a driver who’s failed roadside breath AND drugs tests following a crash on the A27 near Lewes.”
