TODAY Burger King are making a radical change to their menu to celebrate their famous burger, the Whopper.

The fast-food chain is rubbishing claims that variety is the spice of life and making the signature sandwich the only food item available to customers as part of Whopper Wednesday.

A spokesman for the company said: "Burger King is the home of the Whopper. But when was the last time you had a Whopper?

"We are doing what we should have done a long time ago. We are serving Whoppers and only Whoppers.

"Sometimes no choice is the best choice."

But to make up for this lack of choice Burger King are giving customers the chance to get their hands on a Whopper for free.

The restaurant will give a burger to anyone who has downloaded the Burger King app.

For those who cvan't make it to their nearest venue, the chain also says it will include a free Whopper with any orders on Deliveroo.

UK Burger King marketing director Katie Evans said: "We are so excited to treat the nation to our iconic Whopper.

"The Whopper is Burger King’s pride and joy, and for one day only we think everyone deserves to get involved, tuck in and savour that flame grilled goodness on us.

"Burger fans have no choice, but in a good way. Hope you understand. After all, Burger King is not called home of the cheeseburger."
