A POP star with a career spanning more than 50 years has announced an extensive UK tour.

Scottish singer-songwriter Lulu will hit the road this autumn, performing at the Eastbourne Congress Theatre on September 20.

Tickets are on sale today at 10am.

The mammoth jaunt around the country will see Lulu play 35 shows in under two months. The On Fire tour will celebrate 55 years since the release of the singer’s hit debut single Shout.

Released in 1964, Shout peaked at number seven in the UK charts and made Lulu a household name.

The shows will see Lulu run through all her best-known hits.

As an added bonus, giant LED screens will show personal and career-defining, moments from her nearly 60 years in the music industry.

Speaking of the tour Lulu said: “I’ve so enjoyed touring with my amazing band over the past few years that it didn’t take very long for me to get the urge to hit the road again. We’ll be playing here, there and everywhere, so I invite fans old and new to come along and share a great night covering my six decades in music.”

Lulu released her debut album, Something To Shout About, in 1965. Since then she has released a further 14 studio albums.

Her highest charting record came in the form of 2002’s Together.

The tour announcement comes just days after it was announced Lulu would support Take That on their 37-date Greatest Hits tour.

The spring shows, which kicked off on Tuesday in Sheffield, will see Lulu open the show for the band, including an eight-day residency at London’s O2 arena.

Following the run with Take That, Lulu will hit the road for her headline shows.

The tour kicks off in Basingstoke at the Anvil Arts Theatre on September 19 and runs until November 2 at the Queens Theatre in Barnstaple.
