A CARAVAN overturned forcing part of the A27 to be closed.
The crash happened at about 11.20am near Portslade causing queuing traffic stretching as far as Patcham.
There was also traffic between Devil's Dyke Road and Withdean.
The road was closed between the Shoreham Bypass and the A27 junction with Devil's Dyke Road.
At about 2pm the road was cleared and reopened.

At the time an AA spokesman warned drivers to expect severe delays.
He said: “The road is blocked and there is queuing traffic due to a rolled over Recreational Vehicle (RV) on the A27 Westbound from Devils Dyke Road, at the Hove turn off, to the A293 at the West Hove turn off.”
They said the crash happened “in the dip mid way between the Hove and Portslade exits”.
