A HOMELESS man has been charged with assaulting a police officer.
Callum Hawkins, 23, has been charged with using a stolen debit card to buy scratch cards worth £25 pounds as well as causing criminal damage to a cell door and assaulting a police officer.
Hawkins, of no fixed address, was arrested in Subway in North Street, Brighton, on Wednesday.
He was refused bail and detained in custody to appear before Brighton magistrates at a date to be confirmed.
