COASTGUARDS searched land and sea after reports of a hang glider bailing into the sea.

From 8pm on Saturday, teams from Newhaven and Birling Gap Coastguards as well as helicopter rescue searched into the night after two reports of the missing person on the hang glider.

It was reported the person ditched the glider into the sea off the Rushy Hill Caravan Park between Newhaven & Peacehaven.
