THREE young men were arrested after a taxi driver was robbed.
The incident happened at about 5.45pm on Monday in Portland Road, Hove.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Police were called to a report of a robbery involving a taxi driver.
“Officers responded and three men were eventually arrested in Graham Avenue, Mile Oak.
“A 21-year-old man, of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault and being involved in the supply of cannabis.
“A 21-year-old man from Hove was arrested on suspicion of robbery and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
“A 21-year-old man from Southwick was arrested on suspicion of robbery, possession with intent to supply cannabis and obstructing a police officer. All three remain in custody.”
Labour Party Councillor Peter Atkinson, who represents the North Portslade ward, said: “Although the arrest was made in Graham Avenue, Mile Oak, it is not linked to the recent problems we’ve had with youths and anti-social behaviour.
“This appears to have been a one off violent crime against the unfortunate taxi driver and my thoughts are with him and his family.”
