A TRAIN station was closed and evacuated after a fire alarm sounded in its boiler room.
Commuters were forced to leave Eastbourne Station this morning as fire services investigated the source of the alarm.
Photographs from the scene showed passengers waiting behind a temporary yellow barrier.
A witness said: “There is a fire alarm at Eastbourne Railway Station.
“The station evacuated and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) are now going underground.”

An ESFRS spokeswoman said: “We were called out at 7.26am.
“Firefighters from Eastbourne attended.
“An alarm sounded in the boiler room but it was a false alarm.
“Crews left the scene at 7.45am.”
A spokesman for Govia Thameslink Railway said: "Eastbourne station had to be evacuated this morning when the fire alarm sounded shortly before 7.30am.
"Trains were brought to a stand outside the station but the fire brigade responded very quickly and were able to confirm we could reopen the station and resume services at 7.45am.
"Four trains were delayed by around 10 minutes each."
