TWO men who robbed a teenager during an acid attack have admitted their crimes.

Jordan Kelly and Brooke Brennan were involved in the attack in Whitehawk Way.

A 19-year-old suffered burns to his eyes and throat after a corrosive substance was thrown in his face.

Robbers had demanded he hand over his wallet and mobile phone as he walked to some shops at about 8pm on March 10.

The victim told police he was aware of a man behind him before the attack.

He was grabbed by the attacker, who squirted a liquid into his face.

The victim believes a knife was then put to his stomach.

He managed to flee to nearby Exceat Close and told a resident that his eyes and throat were burning.

An ambulance took him to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, where he was later released.

It was revealed he needed ongoing treatment for his eyes, face and tongue.

Last month, Kelly and Brennan appeared in court where they admitted their roles in the offence.

Kelly, 28, of St George’s Road in Brighton, admitted robbery, and throwing a corrosive substance with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He is also accused of a robbery at Hartley’s off licence in St George’s Road on March 24.

Meanwhile Brennan, 21, of Plaistow Close, Brighton, admitted robbery.

The duo will appear in court on May 9
