HAVE you ever wanted a dog that could star in its own swashbuckling space adventure?

Well you could be in for a treat thanks to Dogs Trust.

The charity has released a comical gallery of pooches looking for a home who also happen to look like beloved characters from the Star Wars franchise.

Dogs Trust compiled their doggy doppelgangers to celebrate Star Wars Day on Saturday May 4.

They include a Rottweiler that looks like Darth Vader, a Shih-Tzu Ewok and a Staffordshire Cross Chihuahua which bears a striking resemblance to Yoda.

The charity created the hilarious collection using dogs they are currently looking after in their 21 rehoming centres across the UK.

But the Shoreham care centre, in Brighton Road, is lucky enough to have two Star Wars doppelgangers.

Staffordshire Cross Chihuahua Bailey, middle-right, is infamous among staff for her Yoda-like features and is described as being “adorable and clever”.

Boomer, top-right , is a young Havanese Crossbreed and staff believe he looks just like Chewbacca, whose actor Peter Mayhew sadly passed away at the age of 74 on April 29.

Four-year-old Rottweiler Angel, bottom-left, is based at the charity’s centre in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and is said to be a good-natured dog despite her likeness to Sith overlord Darth Vader.

Shih Tzu Archie, bottom-right, bears a striking resemblance to an Ewok, according to staff at the Shrewsbury centre in Shropshire.

The pooch pictures come as preparations are underway at Dogs Trust Shoreham to hold a fun day at its centre on Sunday May 26.

The event will run from 11.30am to 4pm and will include a dog show, a raffle, and games for both two-legged and four-legged visitors in a bid to raise money for the charity.

It is looking for generous people to donate prizes for the raffle and tombola at the event, including vouchers and unopened gift sets.

Anyone interested can drop prizes at the charity’s centre in Brighton Road or order items from its Amazon wish-list to be delivered there.

Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children, while dogs go free.
