The new Labour group leader has annouced who she wants to help run the council.
Nancy Platts has put forward her proposed new team of lead councillors, who will chair the various decison-making commitees of Brighton and Hove City Council.
Appointments are expected to be confirmed at the council's annual meeting next Wednesday (May 22).
Councillor Platts said: “I am really proud of this very strong team, a team which combines vital experience carried forward from the previous Labour administration as well as the very important skills and expertise of new Labour councillors elected this May.
"We are really looking forward to taking our first steps as a new administration, and beginning to implement our ambitious manifesto commitments to the city, including tackling the key challenges of housing and the environment.”
The proposed councillors are as follows:

Children Young People and Skills Committee - Nick Childs
Nick Childs is a trade union official and local resident.
He works in education across the city.
He said his priorities are fighting child poverty, addressing the climate emergency, affordable housing and improved education.

Environment Transport and Sustainability Committee – Anne Pissaridou
Councillor Pissaridou has lived in Portslade for over 12 years.
She works as a school governor and helps run the local food bank.
She lost her seat in Wish Ward in 2015, but gained a North Portslade seat in 2019.

Housing and New Homes Committee – John Allcock
Councillor Allcock has worked in education, social care and community settings.
He has worked as a civil servant in Westminster, in local authorities and voluntary organisations.

Neighbourhoods, Inclusion, Communities and Equalities Committee - Kate Knight
Councillor Knight is a new to Brighton and Hove City Council.
She became a candidate for Moulsecoomb after Anne Meadows was deselected.

Tourism Development and Culture Committee – Alan Robins
Councillor Robins has been part of Brighton and Hove City Council since 2011.
He had previously been chairman of the Tourism Development and Culture Committee.

Health and Wellbeing Board – Clare Moonan
Councillor Moonan has represented Central Hove on the city council since 2015.

Licensing Committee – Jackie O’Quinn
Councillor O'Quinn is former sixth form teacher and previously chaired the Licensing Committee.

Planning Committee - Tracey Hill
Councillor Hill has represented the Hollingdean and Stanmer ward since 2015.
