Pakal Taco Bar
St James’s Street, Brighton
Five stars, 44 reviews
This is a small spot in Kemp Town that looks like a cafe from the outside – but don’t be fooled by its appearance, this place is a hub for truly authentic Mexican food.
It has recently moved to its St James’s Street location.
Everything is beautifully authentic and fresh and one fan reported: “The staff member was so friendly, warm and genuinely cared about our experience.”

Carlito Burrito
York Place, Brighton
Four stars (260 reviews)
Great decor is becoming a theme of these restaurants.
The look of Carlito Burrito is brilliant and the food seems to match that.
It’s usually busy and that can only be a good sign.

Tlaloc
North Road, Brighton
Five Stars (25 reviews)
There may not be many reviews for this restaurant, but every single one is excellent.
That’s an impressive achievement and if these early reviews are anything to go by then this could be in the running to be one of the best spots in the city.

“Tortillas hand-made in front of you, perfect margaritas and great staff.”
