AN ANNUAL carnival promises to be the “biggest and best yet” with 70 stalls, arena events and a giant python.

Hove Park Carnival will return to Hove Park on Monday with organisers hoping to top last year’s turnout of more than 3,000.

Stalls will include crafts, handmade jewellery, clothing, shiatsu and massage, beauty products, plants and traditional side stalls and games.

It raises money for the Martlets hospice in Hove.

Charlotte Bolton from the Martlets fundraising team said: “We are so excited about this year’s Hove Park Carnival with so many brilliant stall holders and a packed day of entertainments and amusements for young and old. There really is something for everyone this year.”

There are also plenty of activities on offer for animal lovers.

Rescue centre Floof will be there with its resident dogs, owl displays and more. For those looking for more exotic animals, Brighton company RepTylers is set to visit the event, taking with it a selection of creepy crawlies and a 14ft long python.

For those who have missed Martlets much-loved snails, there will also be a last chance take one home as the Hove Carnival raffle this year offers an exclusive opportunity to win a Geronimo Junior Snail.

The carnival is free to attend, starting at 11.30am and finishing at 5pm.
