A MOTORCYCLIST who died after a crash involving two cars has been named.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Ryan John Barrett, 25, of Graham Crescent, Portslade sadly died after he was involved in a collision with two cars at about 1pm on Saddlescombe Road, Poynings.”

Two ambulance helicopters were sent to the crash on May 12.

Mr Barrett died at the scene.

A witness said: “I was up walking along Devil’s Dyke with the dogs and we saw the helicopter coming.

“We thought nothing of it and thought it might be a tourist one but then we heard loads of sirens and saw people running.

“There were lots of people running towards the Devil’s Dyke Road, something was definitely happening on that side.

“The helicopter landed near Dyke Road.

“It also looked like there was another one coming into land as well.

“There were a lot of sirens and a lot of people running.”

Officers would now like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or the manner in which any of the vehicles were driven before the crash.
