MOTORISTS were left with minor injuries after a crash on the A27.

Police and paramedics have been called to the dual carriageway at Portslade after reports of a three-car crash shortly before 8am.

The AA has reported that lanes were closed to recover the vehicles involved.

Pictures from the scene show an ambulance and a Mini which appears to have been involved in the crash.

The ambulance service said two patients were injured, but were both checked and treated at the scene.

They did not need hospital treatment.

The AA site said there was queuing traffic for two miles on the eastbound carriageway from the West Hove turn off back to the Holmbush turn off, going back through the Southwick Tunnel.

Lanes have reportedly reopened, but motorists are advised that there could be a 20 minute delay to journeys.

The ambulance service left the scene at 10am.
