A YOUNG man was found hanging from a tree in a park.

Marcin Zarowny, 35, lived at Conway Court in Clarendon Road, Hove.

He was originally from Poland, but had been living in the UK for a while and worked as a kitchen assistant.

At about 1am on May 27, a cyclist found him hanged from a tree in Hove Park.

Paramedics were called to help immediately.

An inquest into his death opened on Thursday. Brighton and Hove Coroner’s Court heard medics gave him adrenalin to try to restart his heart.

His circulation returned briefly and he was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, where he was treated.

He had brain damage and was transferred to the intensive care unit.

He died later that afternoon in hospital after a decision was made to stop treatment.

The provisional cause of death has been recorded as hanging.

A post mortem and toxicology report have not yet been carried out.

Brighton and Hove Coroner Veronica Hamilton Deeley said she needed a statement from his GP, Mr Zarowny’s partner and the member of the person who spotted him before his full inquest on September 4 this year.

He was formally identified by his partner.
