A MAN has been charged with the attempted rape of a child.
Ewing Gilmour, 20, unemployed, of no fixed address, has appeared in court in connection with the attempted rape of the 13-year-old girl in Selsey.
It is reported to have happened in an alleyway between Manor Road and Manor Lane around 8.20am on Wednesday 29 May.
Police searched the area and carried out forensic enquiries.
CCTV footage was also found from a street nearby.
Gilmour was arrested later that evening and charged with the attempted rape of a child.
He was remanded in custody and appeared before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Friday 31 May.
The case was sent for trial at Portsmouth Crown Court on 28 June.
Gilmour will remain in custody ahead of this date.
