PROTESTERS are planning to turn out in force to express their anger at Donald Trump's UK visit.

He touched down at London's Stansted Airport this morning, beginning a three day stay in the country.

He and First Lady Melania Trump arrive as guests of the Queen.

During the visit the pair will attend a ceremony in Portsmouth to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

He will also speak with Prime Minister Theresa May in official talks at Downing Street.

The president will meet several members of the Royal Family including the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry.

But the Duchess of Sussex, who he recently described as "nasty", will not meet with him and will instead stay home with her three-week-old baby, Archie.

A Brighton LGBT campaign group is organising a protest against President Trump’s visit.

The Argus:

Queer AF Brighton is hosting the “Anti Trump Demo Brighton” event between 6.30pm and 9.30pm tonight in Bartholomew Square, Brighton.

A spokesman said: "Come out loud, proud and colourful to say no to Trump’s visit and no to the abhorrent anti-human politics he is facilitating across the States and beyond."

When the president last visited the UK in July 2018, hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Brighton to condemn Trump's "transphobic views and fascism".

They gathered at Brighton Town Hall before marching through the city, singing and chanting with many waving protest banners.

Several flares were set off during the procession.

The protest was organised by Brighton Anti-fascists. At the time spokesman for the organisation Andrew Beckett said: "We just wanted to give everyone in Brighton a space to come together and express their anger at Trump on the day he arrives.

"We wanted a place to show solidarity with all those who suffer from Trump’s policies – women, trans people, migrants, people of colour, Muslims and the ecology of the planet."
